Niobium Alloy sheet is cold rolled and vacuum annealed component made from Niobium element. The commercially pure niobium products are utilized in high-end applications such as superconductors, super-coolers in particle acceleration applications.

Grades available:

There are two kinds of grades available for Niobium sheets as grade one and grade two. Grade one is called reactor-grade, and it has 0.1% max impurities. Whereas grade 2 is the commercial one that allows up to 0.2% impurities. The sheets also range in thickness from 0.006 to 0.1875 inches.

Features:

Niobium is less corrosion resistant when it is used at high temperatures. Niobium is unaffected at room temperature by most of the acids. However, it is attacked by alkaline solutions to some extent at all temperatures.

Because Niobium has a low capture cross-section for thermal neutrons, it is highly applicable in the nuclear industry. In addition, it can be anodized Niobium to a wide variety of colors that makes it attractive in jewelry industries.

Niobium is utilized in alloys, including stainless steel. It improves the strength of the alloys, specifically at the lower range of temperatures. Also, other applications are in jet engines, rockets, beams, and girders for building and oil rings.
