Why do we choose Inconel as the material?

Inconel is a super alloy. They have the duo combination of nickel and chromium. Therefore, they are eligible to perform well in severe environments too.

Intragranular corrosion is not to be seen in them owing to the presence of titanium.

• Reducing acids have no effect on them.
• Oxidizing acids do not degrade them.

Chromium present in them makes the alloy sustain attacks of nitrates, nitric acid, etc. Oxidizing salts do not reduce them. Local attacks like pitting and surface chapping is never experienced by them as they have manganese in them. Attacks of sulphuric acid and phosphorous acid have no significant impact on them. This magical property is rendered by a nickel combining elements of chromium and molybdenum.
