Why We Used Brass Rod?

Brass metal is the best material for manufacturing many components because of its unique combinations of properties. It has good strength and ductility with excellent corrosion resistance, and superb machinability. The brass metal is set the standard in which the machinability of other materials is refereed. So, it is available in a wide variety of product forms and sizes to allow minimum machining to finished dimensions. The brass rod with a copper content can be extensively deformed at room temperature and are generally used to manufacture complex components in pressing, deep drawing, spinning, and other cold forming processes. The copper content is present in the process mentioned above, and no other alloying elements are present. The ductility of the product is reduced at room temperature. These brass alloys can be extensively hot worked by rolling, extrusion, forging and stamping. The strength, ductility and formability are retained at low temperature, which makes the brass rod alloy ideal for cryogenic applications. The alpha brasses contain copper that has excellent cold formability. So, these brasses can easily be drawn into deeply recessed components like the automotive radiator. It is hard solderable and has low corrosion resistance, so it is very sensitive to water and various salt solution.
