About Titanium grade 2 Rods
These rods are made of 99% titanium. The dimensions used in the rods are of standards EN, DIN, JIS, ASTM, BS, ASME, and AISI. These round rods are generally used in automotive works. Thermal and cryogenic applications also primarily use these rods. These rods are highly corrosion resistant. It offers the strength of 6061-t6 aluminium approximately. The material comes under the specification of ASTM B348. the grade 2 rods can be produced in different forms and shapes: square, channel rods, T-rods, blocks, rings, hollow, round rod, hex, threaded, billet, profiles, and forging.
Composition & features of Titanium grade 2 Rods
These rods are made by a combination of carbon, titanium, iron, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen. As these elements are combined with increasing their mechanical properties. These rods have a minimum tensile strength of 344MP and yield strength of 275MP. The melting point of the rods is approx. 1665 degrees Celsius. As it has a high melting point, it can be conveniently used in high-temperature areas.
Applications of Titanium grade 2 Rods
These rods are dominantly used in power generation, heat exchangers, paper industry, condensers, and chemical industries. The high percentage of oxygen and iron offers these rods great strength and malleability. Along with this, they have immune to corrosion. Therefore, they are preferably used in aerospace works.
